When Jesus was fasting in the wilderness, the devil seized the perfect opportunity to tempt Him in three ways: 1.) His flesh with food, 2.) His ego with false promises and visions of grandeur, 2.) and His obedience to God's perfect will. It's amazing to know that Jesus Christ was tempted in the exact same ways we are tempted today! However, our precious Lord resisted temptation and was without sin—no only so that He could empathize with our weaknesses (Hebrews 4:15), but also so that He could show us the way to overcome (John 16:33).
