In Matthew 5:5, Jesus says, “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.” At face value, it sounds almost ridiculous because we live in a “survival of the fittest” kind of world, and the only thing the meek get is left behind. However, as Pastor Dudley Rutherford preaches on the definition, decree, and display of meekness (in Jesus Christ), we learn that meekness is not being weak or cowardly. It is humility, gentleness, power under control, and a heart committed to serving others.
