In Joshua chapters six and seven, the Israelites were on the cusp of entering the Promised Land. God had just given them a tremendous victory at the Battle of Jericho. But then Achan sinned and disobeyed the Lord in a big way at the Battle of Ai, and because of his sin, the Israelites were defeated.
